Opening for Richie Havens, gigging with an up-and-coming Regina Spektor, becoming an “authentic” French Quarter street musician, sharing a Wisconsin farmhouse with a swarm of bees, all while touring the U.S. in an overstuffed Honda Accord—I’ve had many adventures (and misadventures) on the road. Come hear these stories and more as I present Wander & Never Wonder Why at Godfrey Daniels on Saturday, January 21.
The solo performance will feature the songs and stories of my early years as a touring musician, couch surfing from coast to coast, discovering America, and finding my voice as a singer/songwriter. The concert will include readings from my tour blogs about my “colorful, ludicrous past”, and answer pressing questions, such as:
- What does the “F” in “WIFI” NOT stand for?
- What is the recommended method for fighting bears?
- How did the band “Bridal Shower Brawl” get its name?
- Where can you throw snowballs in August?
The road is a magical, untamed place. I’ve performed countless concerts, but this will be the first time I’ve blended story and song in this type of format. It’s going to be a really fun and poignant look at a young artist finding adventure on the American road.
